True Story

As the title implies, this poem IS a true story from my POV
I wrote it in ballad format because it was for class

--True Story--
The first thing you need to know
Is that my life isn't ready, set, go
I have many little things to settle everyday
And as hard as any of it is, I tend to find a way

But the one thing I can't do is look her in the eye
I can't share these feelings that I hide
I don't want it to seem out of the blue
When I tell her this story is true

There are many friends who may need help
And I say "I'll be there for you no matter what."
I can help many because I understand
And they believe having me as a friend is grand

I've had many a chance to do
But the conversations is always "How are you?"
I'll never reach that special place
At my utterly ridiculous pace

When I finally manage to tell her, that this story is true

Weeks and weeks have passed and I remain
Alone and thinking things through in pain
My friends would support me if only they knew
But I let no one close and I never give clues
